A comeback Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents his first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also signifies he has won twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.

But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to create a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
